Here it is, the middle of October and already the snowbirds are flocking to our Over 55 Communities in South Florida. What does it all mean? In my last blog about snowbirds, I ended it with We’re happy to see them go and we’re happy to have them return. And return it is. It certainly helps the Palm Beach County economy.
This seems to be an early snowbird season. Generally, the flocking doesn’t start until closer to Thanksgiving. The weather must be getting pretty cold up there. It seems to have spurred this early arrival.
Getting to see old friends again is great. That’s the plus side of it. The cost of enhancing our economy is offset by the fact that it will now take longer to drive to your destination and the wait in restaurants will also be longer. The tennis courts and golf courses will become busy. Prices will go up. Isn’t it wonderful?
All that being said, I for one am delighted to have them return. It’s part of South Florida pattern. I would venture a guess that we (Candace and I) have over 50 additional friends to enjoy for the next 5 or 6 months. At that time, I still feel, We’re happy to see them go AND we’re happy to see them return.
By the way, If you or anyone you know has any Real Estate Needs, Candace and I would sure appreciate your referrals.
