According to NAR (National Association of Realtors), 1 in 4 sellers was 65+ in 2012. That number is only going to increase therefore the demand for senior living is increasing. Aging seniors are projected to move out of an estimated 11.3 million housing units between 2010 and 2020.
Prices for units in 55+ communities rebounded from the recession much faster than the rest of the housing market.
As baby boomers enter retirement and are tasked with the job of caring for elderly parents, the Senior Tsunami is rapidly approaching. Professionals in the real estate industry better be ready or they will be left behind.
