The 2014 55+ Active Adult Season is a pleasant surprise. In Palm Beach County. Homes are in demand and are selling quickly. It seems like the homes from the $200’s up to the mid $300’s are selling quickly. The higher priced homes are moving but at a much slower clip. I’ve been urging potential seller to get their homes on the market while the iron is hot.
A hopeful projection is that the brutal weather that they’ve experienced in much of the county will probably do the future Florida real estate market some good. Up north, they have cold, snow and ice every winter. Here in South Florida, we have an occasional hurricane every 10 years or so. Making the decision as to where I want to live, for me, is a no brainer.
Whether buyers come to Palm Beach County as full time residents, snowbirds or snowflakes, the Florida climate is attractive. Golf, Tennis, and other outdoor sports and available year round.
2014 is predicted to be a good year for real estate. The economy has started it’s recovery. Mortgage rates are stable and mortgages are easier to get. Many home buyers in Florida’s 55+ communities are cash buyers. It’s nice if you can do it. Buying in today’s market will probably give you the best of both worlds, a nice place to live or spend the winter AND a good investment.
